This position is responsible for specifications, procurement, engineering/documentation, and technical support associated with the installation of wireless radio systems including two-way voice and data, trunked, repeater, paging, multiple-address, and microwave in the 150 Mhz. to 6 Ghz. range. Other responsibilities include FCC licensing and engineering support for associated systems such as self-supporting towers, feedlines, antennas, equipment shelters, DC power systems, generators, and transient/grounding protection.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelors degree in Engineering or 2 -year technical degree in a related field.
2. Minimum 3 years work experience in engineering wireless systems.
3. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
4. Good verbal and written communications skills.
5. Work well in a team environment.
6. Proficient in use of E-mail, MS Office - Word and Excel

Desired qualifications
1. Bachelors degree in engineering.
2. 5 years work experience in engineering and project management.
3. Proven track record in successful project management.
4. Experienced in use of documentation tools such as AutoCad or Visio.
5. Familiarity with state, federal, and local regulations as they apply to wireless telecommunications facilities.

Specific job responsibilities:
1. Develops, plans, and prepares engineering job packages consisting of detailed parts/equipment list, logical installation instructions, and appropriate documentation (drawings, wiring diagrams, layouts, etc.) to support an efficient installation and maintenance process.
2. Prepares and submits cost estimates, economic studies, and special work requests for planned projects.
3. Works effectively with other team members to successfully implement wireless systems.
4. Inspects and monitors installations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
5. Resolves complex technical problems and provides assistance to Installation and Maintenance personnel. - Conducts independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, components, or process specifications and requirements.
- Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
- Assists in preparation of bids and proposals as required.
- May coordinate the work and provide work leadership to lower level employees assigned to projects.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline. Five (5) years experience required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Excellent analytical and Microsoft office environment skills required.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
- Data and image processing along with GUI development in a Real Time Embedded system a plus. Instrument control experience, TCP/IP and related networking skills a plus.
- Technical skills such as C/C++, JAVA, DirectX, Windows-NT, Windows-2000, Windows-XP, Linux and UNIX are required.
