Territory is Upper Midwest area, and the candidate will cover a territory to include ND, SD, MN, WI, MI, NE, KS, MO, IL. Due to the existing machine population, it will make sense for this candidate to live in either IL, WI or IN. They will live in the territory they cover.
What you need for this position:
Valid drivers' license.
High school diploma and 5 years experience with sales within the crane industry, or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
Demonstrated sales and customer service experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of crane lifting or truck crane products.
Demonstrated initiative to visualize, organize, manage, and complete projects in individual and group settings.
Ability to interface with all levels of staff.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
Proficiency in MS Office to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends if necessary.
Overnight and international travel necessary.
What you'll be doing:
Responsible for sales and marketing activities in assigned territory
Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective market strategies to achieve company sales and profit goals
Sells company's products and services by calling on prospective and established customers and governmental agencies
Responsible for reporting to upper level management with progress reports on a weekly basis
Responsible for maintaining customer relationships while achieving sales and profit goals
Responsible for maintaining detailed knowledge of company products and competitor's products
Delivers sales presentations to key clients for direct sale of cranes.
Recommends budget expenditures for sales activities and controls expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements.
Monitors, evaluates and reports the activities and products of the competition.
Reports updated information on new projects, their progress and any lost sale activity on a timely basis.
Participates in the development and implementation of a strategic sales plan to accommodate corporate goals.
Directs and participates in sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
Represents company at trade association meetings and customer events to promote products
Analyze customer needs for equipment and options and determining if they are compatible with product line.
Direct customer contact via phone, fax, email, and on-site visits.
What's in it for you:
-Base salary will be $55,000. The candidate will also be given a guaranteed draw against commissions for 12 months of $20,000. They can continue this draw after the first year, but it will only be guaranteed for the first year. They will be eligible for a commission of .5% of each crane they sell, with a minimum commission of $3500 and a maximum of $8500 per crane. They will also be eligible for a vehicle allowance of $7800 per year (paid bi-weekly), as well as reimbursement for fuel. They will be provided with a laptop & cellphone, and will be reimbursed for travel expenses (hotel, airfare, rental car, etc.) and a meal per-diem while travelling.
